![]() ![]() I manually installed the final available firmware update for the Kobo Arc 7 HD, by renaming it and placing it in the root folder (this was found and the Kobo updated), but it still won't allow me get past this initial startup screen, which connects to the internet via WiFi, to check for new updates (despite there being no new updates, and in any case Kobo's servers no longer respond to the Kobo Arc 7 HD), because Kobo have disabled their servers from communicating with my Kobo Arc 7 HD! Like Sonos with their speakers, Kobo has forced obsolescence and killed my useful Kobo Arc 7 HD! HOW DARE THEY? I BOUGHT THIS! I PAID GOOD MONEY! Kobo should not be allowed to do this! Devices such as this, would still be useful (if not killed by Kobo) to causes in third world schools, if donated. ![]() Now Kobo has willfully killed this still (formerly) useful device! After doing a hard reset, Kobo's servers no longer connect at startup to my Kobo Arc 7 HD, which it insist upon or it simply won't allow you to do anything else, and there is no way to get past that screen! It successfully connects to the internet via WiFi, but fails repeatedly and forever to connect to Kobo's servers to update - my Kobo Arc 7 HD can't update and therefore WILL NOT START UP! None of the startup options accessed using the Volume Down key when powering up help either. I love it's high resolution IPS screen, and I use it a lot. KOBO KILLED MY KOBO ARC 7 HD!!! I'M ENRAGED!!! HOW DARE KOBO DESTROY MY KOBO ARC 7 HD! I WILL NEVER BUY KOBO EVER AGAIN! HOW DARE THEY? I BOUGHT THIS! I PAID GOOD MONEY! I WILL NEVER BUY KOBO AGAIN! ![]()
